SHRI HANS RAJ MAHARAJJI SACHA BABA'S CHRISTMAS MESSAGE 1995

Christ lives within all of you. When you have attained Realization, if you want to see him within you, you can do so. If you wish you can see him daily, talk to him daily. He has not gone away, he has only left his body.

Like every year, ShantiMayi invited Maharajji Sacha Baba, her Master, to address her disciples (mostly Westerners) for Christmas. Here is his message.

Om Akhanda Manadala Karam
Vyaptam Yena Charaacharam
Tadpadam Darshitam Yena
Tasmai Sri Guruve Namaha

[TheGuru can guide us to the supreme knowledge of THAT which pervades all the living and non-living beings in the entire Universe (namely Brahman). I salute such a Guru.]

My souls,

Saints have no religion.
Whatever path they may have taken before, wherever they may have lived, once they have reached Self-Realization [Spiritual awakening, Enlightenment], they no longer have any religion. They are beyond religion, for paths are in the domain of maya
[illusion]. Saints see everyone as themselves. For them, the Heart is universal; as a result they do not see someone as being a Christian, a Mohammedan, a Sikh, or a Hindu etc. The Heart is one.

So every saint lives through that Heart within himself. Buddha said one should not harm anyone. Christ, if he had wished, he would never have been crucified. He had so much power that nobody could ever have killed him. But he himself made that sacrifice so that his disciples would see that the Heart is God and so everyone can sacrifice himself.

And his message is that after his death, after his crucifiction, they must love the people who crucified him as much as they loved him, and that they should not harm them. That is the message of Christ.

That is because he has no enemy in his heart. It was he who allowed himself to be crucified, and he made that big sacrifice because he wanted everyone to go towards God. Every saint wants that also, that a person's aim in life be Self-realization. That is the message of Christ, the message of Buddha, the message of Rama, the message of Krishna, everybody's message - ONE message – not two. God is ONE ! Saints are ONE. The message is the same. If you read their books, their messages are the same.

I love all of you just as much as I love Indians. You have been coming here for so many years, and you see in your hearts whether I love you as I love Indians or not. That is because I am a saint. Saints are like the sun. Christ is like the sun. The sun shines everywhere in the same way. It does not see that this is a good place, or a bad place. Saints and the sun are alike in that every day the sun gives equal light everywhere, likewise saints love everyone of every cast equally.

That is the message of Christ.

So I say to you, don't become narrow minded, love one another and be as one. In spite of your differences you must love one another, all of you. If you want to maintain differences, and remain narrow minded, then you can't attain Realization, remember that. Ten, twenty years may pass, but without love inside... you must have love inside and then you can attain that goal.

I tell you frankly that if Christ had wanted to, nobody could have crucified him. He, himself made that utmost sacrifice. So, the message of the day is : you also must sacrifice yourselves, not through crucifiction, but through Realization, from your Guru, ShantiMayi. You have to surrender first before you get a Guru. At the Allahabad ashram, with my Guru high, sometimes disciples would say « Maharajji [my Guru Sacha Baba Kulanandaji] thinks like this... » But No ! Maharajji's voice is God's. Never in my life did I ever wonder whether Maharajji was wrong or right. When he spoke it was God's voice.

So Christ said to love the people who were crucifying him, just as they loved him. That is Christ's message. That is because he treats everyone the same. He never sees whether someone is loving or not. Saint are the sun. And Saints are the incarnation of God. If there were no saints, there would be no world within us. And if saints were to leave India, the world would fall apart.

                                   See Christ within you

You may think that Christ has gone, that he left so many years ago – but no, no, no  ! Saints continue living, they simply leave their bodies; but when you have attained Realization, if you want to see Christ's face within you, you can do so. Sacha Baba left his body in 1983, and after three days, I talked with him. Five days later he told me to set up a sanskrit college. And he talked a lot, for a long time. You may ask, where was Sacha Baba then ? He was within me ! It is the same with Christ for all of you ; through your Guru you can attain that region within. If you wish you can see the Christ daily, talk to him daily. Christ has not gone away, he is within you. But you don't want to see inside. It is a good thing to sing songs, but you must always think of the Guru as being in your heart ; and Love is the Heart, Love is God.

Radha is an example of love. When Krishna left and went to Mathura, Radha never thought he had gone. So many people said so, but she said he hadn't gone anywhere – that he was within her, he had never left that place and that she always had his darshan : she always saw him. So when I wished to do so during the day, I would talk with Maharajji and at night at about 4 a.m., 5 a.m. I would talk with my Guru – God, Sacha. So you can always talk with Christ. He has not gone away, he has only left his body. He lives within all of you.

And finally, I say to you : you can go to kirtan
[the singing of devotional songs by a group of people] but when you go back to your country, you must make the same effort there, even while working, just think that Christ has come within you, and that you will get God-realization.

And I pray Christ, I pray Sacha Baba that all of you attain Realization and Jivan Mukta [no rebirth, liberation from the cycle of reincarnation].

Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti.
